Spring 2024 Update

Safe Protective Transport Service

SafePassage Global provides safe, protective transport service for persons of all ages who need assistance during their transition to long term or short-term treatment. SafePassage Global is pleased to announce that we have expanded our practice developed a methodology for transporting special needs children, youth and adults that, in certain circumstances, incorporates opportunity for the primary care giver to travel with the Transport Team and the special needs child, youth or adult to their destination. Over the past several years SafePassage Global has gathered data to support the decision to provide this option for transport and further, as a result, have found that the special needs minors and adults whose primary care giver travels with them to treatment are not struggling with trust-transference during the transport and are experiencing smooth transitions into their new living environments.

Managing Anxiety in Transportation

Many care facilities that serve the special needs population require at least one parent or guardian to be on site for admission so to develop a protocol for incorporating the parent, guardian, aunt, sibling of whom the care recipient is most trusting made sense. Predicated by the observance of intense separation anxiety in the home when those moments of intervention and mediation are unfolding, including the care giver in the transport process in order to reduce the level of anxiety resulted in a more peaceful transport environment.

Additionally, Transport Teams reported they experienced comparatively less impulsivity from the person in their care and what they called a happier overall transport environment. Lowering the level of anxiety during the transport translates to fewer instances of impulsivity and increased responsiveness to the collective safe transport environment. SafePassage Global calls this positive outcomes for transport.

SafePassage Global continues to work closely with parents, guardians and consulting professionals to develop the best safety plan for each person in our care. Each safety plan integrates the needs of the individual, be it child, youth or adult, with a transportation plan that places the individual’s safety first.

Through specific training in mediation and intervention techniques, coaching and total transparency SafePassage Global Transport Teams create a positive environment centered on safety and trust in which enables all persons to experience positivity throughout the process.

Parent & Guardian Involvement

SafePassage Global recognizes that we are often the last resort for parents and guardians who are desperate to save the life of their loved one. We encourage parents and guardians to call in and speak with one of our transport consulting professionals to ascertain if hiring a professional transport company is an essential component for helping your loved one arrive safely at the treatment facility you have chosen.

All persons being accompanied by a SafePassage Global Transport Team are treated with dignity and respect; they are offered food in keeping with their dietary restrictions, noncaffeinated beverages and healthy snacks during the transport. Without compromising the safety of the transport, the Teams engage in activities such as playing cards or travel games; audio books or tunes; and age-appropriate moves on airplanes are some of the ways we help build trust with those in their care.

Safety, Trust & Excellence

By creating an environment of safety and trust, SafePassage Global affords the most positive experience possible during transport. Again, a positive transport experience translates to a smooth transition with the destination admission staff.

SafePassage Global is committed to an ethical standard of excellence. Although we do not run into burning buildings, we save lives. Through our dedication to safe modalities for transport, one life at a time is given opportunity to step onto a healing journey and find renewed hope. Through this commitment SafePassage Global is able to provide our clients professional support during unprecedented, challenging times. At the end of the day, we stand in grateful appreciation for the opportunity to be of service to families who want to save the life of someone they love.
