911 – Emergency Service nation wide in the United States. If your at-risk adolescent is out of control and a danger to him/her/self or others, pick up th phone and dial 911. Tell the dispatcher you have a 10-13 emergency and they will send law enforcement assistance. If you have small children at home please remember to let the dispatcher know as they are at risk during these type situations. In most jurisdictions law enforcement can admit an lout of control teen who is a danger to himself or others to a local psychiatric unit for, in many cases, up to 72 hours of observation and evaluation. Often this is enough time for parents or guardian to arrange for their struggling teen to be admitted for treatment to a wilderness treatment program or therapeutic boarding school. When your at-risk teen has been hospitalized do not bring your at-risk teen home but allow SafePassage to conduct an intervention with your adolescent at the time they are being discharged and transport your at-risk teen from the facility directly to the Destination of your choice.
